A founder of Stevens Foster in 1988, Bill became sole proprietor of the firm in 2002. Active in the financial services industry for 30 years, Bill has had extensive experience working with senior level executives and business owners. As an entrepreneur, he understands both the business and personal financial interests of his clients. Prior to founding Stevens Foster, he was a partner in another financial planning firm, and previously spent 10 years working in the life insurance industry. In recent years Bill has consistently been listed by Barron’s among the top financial advisors in the country.

Jeffrey A. Johnson, CFA
Vice President, Investments
Jeff joined Stevens Foster in 2002 as Vice President of Products and Investments, bringing with him over 23 years of investment experience. In this role, he leads a team of three analysts who closely monitor client accounts, research new opportunities, and analyze ongoing market conditions. Prior to joining Stevens Foster, Jeff was a vice president at US Bank, with responsibilities for corporate lending and relationship management with Xcel Energy (NSP) and other large accounts. He moved to the US Bank Asset Management division in 1991 where he initially worked as a fixed income analyst and then developed the Bond-Edge portfolio analytics system. After becoming an equity analyst and portfolio manager, Jeff’s portfolio management responsibilities included co-managing the Technology Fund and the Small Cap Value Fund, and later the Large Cap Growth Fund. Portfolio management responsibilities also included separate account management for high net worth and institutional accounts. Jeff served on the US Bank Asset Management Risk Management Committee and made several appearances on CNBC.

Philip D. Bergstrom, CPA
Vice President, Finance & Tax
Phil has 30 years experience in the field of individual and business tax planning and preparation, in both public accounting and private industry. In addition to his company affiliations, Phil has taught Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Income Tax at the university level. His experience has included significant leadership roles, where he has excelled at leading innovation, process improvement, department administration and client appreciation. He is an excellent communicator, skilled in translating technical information into practical tax strategies and advice. In addition to his client tax responsibilities, Phil is responsible for the firm’s finances, human resources and technology.
